Commonly Asked Questions
What additional costs can I expect?
Our projects are estimated to the best of our ability based on our expertise but until we sit down and review each selection, it is just an estimate. The final cost is dependent on many different variables and sometimes costs are escalated due to changes in the price of materials, concealed conditions, and changes to the scope of work. We always try to include healthy allowances to cover unforeseen expenses. Any changes to the scope of work are processed through a change order.
How do change orders work?
Items added to the scope of work for an agreed upon price are paid out in full before work continues. We utilize change orders on an as-needed basis to customize the scope of work and selections for your project.
How long will the process take?
Each project has a unique timeline that is based off the scope of work. We schedule our subcontractors and inspections in a specific sequence to keep your project on time. Change orders will extend the timeline.
Typical timelines:
◊ Baths: 10–12 weeks
◊ Kitchens: 10–14 weeks
◊ Basements: 4–6 weeks

Can we order our own materials?
Our estimates include the cost of all materials and labor. We prefer to provide all materials and selections to make the process as seamless as possible and to avoid delays.
Can we live in our home during construction?
Yes! We make sure to clean up at the end of each day and move any hazards out of the way. Many people relocate their appliances and belongings for a short time. We will give you updates along the way on what to expect week to week and always try to get you running water and lighting ASAP. However, if we are working on a larger project for you and you are unable to live in the home during construction, we will work out a plan to get you back in the home as fast as we can.
How involved in the process am I expected to be?
Some clients want a lot of involvement in the design process and some like for us to take care of it all. We work with our designers to meet each clients individual needs. Having a project manager, designer, and general contractor allows us to take on all of the stress of remodeling. After the design selections are made, you can just sit back and enjoy the progress.
What are the payment terms?
We require 50% of the contract price as a down payment once contracts are signed. We then collect milestone payments as work continues. The last 5% of the contract price will be due at the final walkthrough.
How do we communicate?
We are available by phone or email during our Business hours. Phone calls and text are preferred for urgent messages, Emails are good for non-urgent messages. Along with the weekly updates, you will receive text notifications with any changes to the schedule.
Business Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

What does a working day look like?
We ask for access to the project Monday through Friday, 7am–4pm. Every day is different; most days are very busy and multiple contractors are coming in to work, but some days we will have no one scheduled. This is by design. The process is fluid and requires flexibility when working with subcontractors.
Is there a warranty?
We proudly warranty our work and the work of our subcontractors. We have specific language in our
contracts that covers our warranty along with manufacturers’ warranties.
